The honest take

What we’d tell a couple planning a wedding here.

Live Oak Plantation is one of the most photographed estates on the Gulf Coast — and for good reason. The signature oaks throw filtered light from the moment doors open until the last sparkler goes out, which means almost every frame from a Live Oak wedding has the kind of natural fill that costs other venues a truck full of lighting equipment.

We still get emotional looking through our gallery. Every quiet moment, every laugh, every tear — Shawn and Tina were there for all of it. The photos under those oaks are something we will treasure forever.

Planning notes

Four things we wish every couple knew before booking.

Timing
First look 90 min before sunset gets you under the main oak in the gold. Don't move it earlier — the light isn't worth chasing before 5pm in summer.
Light
The oaks filter everything. We almost never bring strobes for ceremony or portraits — the canopy does it for free. Reception under the lights is its own thing entirely.
Layout
Getting-ready cottages are a ten-minute walk from the ceremony lawn. Build that into the timeline or you'll lose 30 minutes you didn't plan for.
Where to put us
We work best from inside the family group, not behind a tripod across the lawn. Tell us if your officiant won't allow that — most do here.

Getting married here? Let’s talk.

We accept 40 weddings per year. Pensacola and Destin dates book 12–18 months out. The earlier we know about your day, the better we can plan for it.
