Erika & Patrick’s Moody Woodland Wedding at Green Cabin Ranch | Astatula, Florida

Weddings

Green Cabin Ranch wedding coverage works best when the photographs hold onto the mood of the venue without losing the warmth of the people in it. Astatula, Florida | December 20, 2025 As wedding photographers and videographers serving Pensacola, Destin, and destinations throughout Florida, we bear witness to a great many love stories over the course of a year. But certain weddings stand apart — not for their scale or their spectacle, but for their depth. What’s more, erika and Patrick’s celebration at Green Cabin Ranch was one of those days. Moody, romantic, candlelit from start to finish, and rooted in a quality of emotional intelligence that made every moment feel genuinely significant. This was a wedding designed by two people who knew exactly what they wanted and had the courage to create it without compromise.

Getting Ready at Green Cabin Ranch

Both Erika and Patrick chose to begin their day onsite at Green Cabin Ranch, getting ready surrounded by their closest people in the very landscape where they would soon become husband and wife. In addition, the decision to stay in one place gave the morning a particular ease — no rushing between venues, no fragmenting of the day’s emotion. Just a slow, intentional unfolding of one of the most significant mornings of their lives. Erika spent the hours before the ceremony with her bridesmaids and family, allowing the quiet anticipation to build naturally. Patrick and his groomsmen prepared nearby, keeping the atmosphere grounded and celebratory. Moreover, these early moments set the tone for everything that followed: intentional, present, and rooted in genuine connection.

A Private First Look on the Property

Before the ceremony began, Erika and Patrick chose something that is always one of the most powerful gifts a couple can give themselves: a private first look on the grounds of Green Cabin Ranch. Furthermore, they exchanged gifts, took a moment to breathe together, and allowed the weight and the joy of the day to land before stepping into the ceremony itself. First looks are always meaningful, but this one carried an unusual depth — quiet, unhurried, and full of the kind of genuine connection that makes a photograph speak for decades.

A Candlelit Ceremony in the Woods

The ceremony began at 4:30 PM, with 120 guests gathered in a setting that Erika and Patrick had envisioned with extraordinary care. As a result, lED candles paired with real flame candles transformed the woodland space at Green Cabin Ranch into something warm and otherworldly — intimate despite its scale, romantic in a way that felt entirely uncontrived. Patrick walked the aisle alone — calm, steady, present. Erika was escorted by her brother Casey Smith and her cousin Jordan Flora, a deeply personal choice that honoured the relationships closest to her heart. The ceremony itself was beautifully unadorned: a ring exchange, heartfelt vows, and the kind of silence between words that only happens when something truly means something. Additionally, sometimes the most powerful ceremonies are the ones that trust the moment entirely, and this was one of them.

Cocktail Hour and Family Connections

Cocktail hour unfolded from 5 to 6 PM on the stone pavers outside the pavilion, with guests moving easily between conversation and the beauty of the ranch at dusk. Throughout the hour, Erika and Patrick made a deliberate point of connecting with everyone present — moving from table to table, welcoming guests to them, honouring the relationships that had made the day possible. In fact, family and connection were clearly the priorities of this day, and that intention was visible in every interaction.

Reception and Live Music Under the Pavilion

Dinner and reception began at 6 PM and extended through to 10, with Actual Bank Robbers — a live band from the Tampa Bay area — providing the soundtrack. Their energy was extraordinary, filling the pavilion with music that felt celebratory without ever losing the emotional depth of the day. Notably, arthur’s Catering handled the feast, florals by Lee Forest brought the woodland setting inside, and the evening moved through its most treasured moments with a natural ease: the couple’s first dance, a touching mother-son dance, cake cutting, and the beautiful, unhurried joy of two families becoming one. From the moody candlelight of the ceremony to the warmth of the reception floor, every detail of Erika and Patrick’s day felt intentional and personal — a direct reflection of who they are together.
